Raw Paw is an artist-run print studio in Austin, TX. Their “Heaven or Hell” Shirt Design Challenge 2026 asked artists to produce a thematic-related design. T-shirts with the various designs were then made available for pre-order from August 4 through September 21, 2026 (six weeks), at which point the shirts were screen printed and shipped.

My “Paradiso o Inferno” t-shirt design is a 100% hand-drawn (pen on ink) abstract depiction of blissful nirvana above and the tortured underworld below. I had a lot of fun drawing this art, starting with the rough idea of Heaven on the top of the piece and Hell on the bottom but allowing the pen and my imagination to guide the imagery and synergy of elements (crowns, diamonds, chains, flames, etc.). Hopefully every time you look at the design you see something new. PS - Paradiso o Inferno is simply Heaven or Hell written in Italian!
